It's was a great experience we had a great time rooms were cozy staff was friendly and in a quiet neighborhood and a good town overall pretty good
I was recently tasked to find lodging for a crew of 12 construction workers. Apparently there was a soccer tournament in college station and the majority of hotels/motels were pretty much booked to capacity. After searching the surrounding areas (Caldwell, Navasota, Brenham) we found Western Inn with enough space to book 5 doubles and 3 singles. The place is apparently family owned by really nice people, unfortunately the same could not be said for the rooms. The first thing I noticed when we were initially assigned our rooms was being dive bombed by a dozen of sparrows that had made their nests right under the awning by the door. Opening the door itself posed another challenge. After jiggling the door knob it opened fairly easy but once inside the only way to lock the deadbolt was by slamming the door and pressing against it. In between the door and the door frame, there was a significant gap that allowed all kinds of insects to get into the room. Once inside I turned on the light which barely lit the room and immediately noticed a faint smell of raw sewage coming from the bathroom. After I unpacked my things, I needed to use the bathroom. Once I sat down on the toilet it began to sway left and right slightly and as I finished the the water pressure wasn't strong enough to flush. After about a dozen or so flushes the room began to fill with a smell of raw sewage and waste enough to gag an elephant. The bed sheets were old and stained yellow. and the comforter was cheap as hell. The bed itself was hard as a rock. If you had absolutely nowhere to stay and were trying to flee lets say and outbreak of a contagious disease, invasion of foreign forces, mass nuclear fallout, I would consider the woods before I recommended this hotel.
7/10/16 1:19am I drove 11 hours and I'm extremely tried. I have an interview in the morning at 9 am. So I get to this hotel and it looks cheap( i didn't want to spend $70 a night on a room). I expected somethings to be wrong because like I said the hotel looks cheap. Well I didn't expect to get a room with cob webs on the outside door plus the spider and 4 more on the inside.. Did I mention I have my 2 small children with me. I guess I'm going to look exhausted for my interview in the morning.
