I will be going back there to eat. I'm hoping today was just a fluke.
Today, though, the queso tasted as if it had been refrigerated then heated up and burned a little. (Which the waiter took care of!!!) The Salsa was way too hot for any average person to enjoy. And lastly, my nephews grilled cheese was literally cheese on toast. The cheese was not melted.
I 100% would suggest this place to anyone looking to eat good Mexican food.
This was a VERY disappointing dining experience. It seemed obvious that there wasn't enough wait-staff. When we placed our food order, we also ordered queso to go with the chips. The 'queso' was simply a bowl of velvetta that had been melted. Yuck. The dish the salsa was in leaked all over the table. It took our waitress about 10 minutes to be able to get something to wipe it up and bring fresh. We waited 30-40 minutes for our food to arrive. We talked about just paying for the chips and velvetta, and leaving. We should have. I had ordered the Chimichanga with sour cream sauce. What arrived was a chimichanga with a glop of sour cream on top covered with a slice of cheese. Again - YUCK. The rice was overcooked and mushy. Yuck. They had seated us in a booth next to the bar area, and there were some rather loud women at the bar over-indulging in the alcoholic beverages. We couldn't wait to get our check and LEAVE! A definite NOT WORTH IT in my opinion.
It's apparent that the new owners take great care to ensure that the food they put out is top quality, and the customers have a great experience. Happy to call this place my new "regular," and wish them all the best.
This place has great service. Is very clean. Awesome prices! They have great atmosphere. You can go to Ama's to have dinner and drinks with friends on Saturday then on Sunday have lunch after church with your family. For the most part I would say the food is very good. I have eaten there several times.
Poor service. I'm staying at the Holiday Inn next door, I was told that they could bring it over as a convenience since I was here with my young daughter. The girl was not able to take my order completely over the phone so I had to go over there anyway. When I got there they'd forgotten to give me chips and salsa so I had to remind them. I got back to the hotel just to realize they forgot to give dressing for the salad. I called and ask them to bring it over, but it took them so long I just went to pick it up. When I called to complain the manager said she was sorry and she would use it as a learning experience. She said they no longer deliver to the hotel, I said "thank you," she hung up. A "you're welcome" or "thank YOU for giving us your business" would have been nice. I wish I would have known, I would have gone somewhere else.
Great early dinner yesterday, Saturday night. Place was busy but staff was polite, friendly and efficient. Had cups and Caso and food came out just at perfect time. Margaritas was great and the beef fajitas were scorching hot and delicious. The only other time I have eaten there service was very slow but also was Sunday at lunch time. This time it was perfect and I will go again when in the area.
Recommendation: taco plate with beef fajita meat and chart beans. Crunchy shells, obviously.
