The staff here are wonderful. Very nice and friendly. Fast seating & service. Food served hot. Really good chicken fried steak.
We had the CFS, fried catfish, grilled shrimp, beef tips, and fried mushrooms. Everything was pretty good. Beef tips were the best. Most dinners were $9 to $10 and the servings were plentiful. Roll and cornbread were good. We would eat here again.
Not many restaurants in Hearne, so out of the few available options, this is probably one of your best bets. Nothing really exceptional; just basic Southern style food. Chicken fried steak/chicken is decent, service is fairly good, prices are about average. No real complaints, no real praise. Always good to have one more option in a town this size, but nothing to write home about.
First time here food and service was very good. This time, food still very good but service lacked as we had been waiting over 10 minutes to get our order taken. I decided to get up and go to the bathroom another few minutes passed still nothing. We did get bread and something to drink but still it didn't take long to decide what we wanted. On the way back to bathroom I saw waitresses sitting down and talking. I had to request our order to be taken which finally it was. Thankfully, the food was good to make up for the frustration and our server adjusted to make the experience better.
